Teamwork at PBS

Yesterday afternoon San Kyaw, Joushua V, Freeman and I took photos on how we can show leadership next year. We chose two things that we can do next year to show that we are leaders. The two things we chose were Making sure that people are ok and not hurt, making sure everyone knows what to do. This was a great opportunity to co-operate with the people in my class. This is what we think teamwork look's like in Panmure Bridge School.

Cross Country

This term LS2 has been practicing and preparing for Cross Country. We have been learning how to paste ourselves. Before and after running we always have to stretch. It is important to stretch because it will help loosen your muscles. We have been running five laps or more around our school fields which I think is good. We have been practicing two times a week. On Wednesday which was the School Cross Country. Everybody was excited and bit neverous. The Cross Country went in year groups so first was the new entrance kids and went up to the year seven and eight. The new entrance kids were running 1 lap. They were amazing. They didn't give up even though it was muddy. Girls were been told to go first then boys. They year seven and eight did five laps. Five laps was lots so everybody remembered to paste themselves and to breathe in and out while running. Before running everybody were stretching. I am a year seven boy which meant I had to do five laps. When I crossed the finish line I was told I came 3. I was very proud of myself and will do better next time.

Worm farms

Worm Farms

I am going to explanation on why worm farms are important, What it does to the environment, Food waste, How to build one, how it affects schools, and how efficient it would be. And what you can do with the worm farms

Environment
Worm farms look’s like a little cage and make the environment look better, but when you don’t use it the environment looks dirty. So that’s why you need to use worm farms because the world would not look good if it is not clean. And for inquiry we are learning about reduce reuse and recycle. We are using recycle for writing for worm farms. The only food the worms could eat to turn into compost is organic food.

Food Waste

We should recycle instead of throwing our rubbish in the bin so the world it not just made out of rubbish because all the rubbish is thrown into landfills.

Why my blog is unique

As strange as it might seem a blog is a website where people across the world share their learning and thoughts. Did you know that every blog looks different? Everyone’s blog is unique at our school because you can earn badges that show your achievement.

My blog is unique because my blog tells you what I have been learning at school. So far I have been blogging for 3 Years! My blog keeps growing and I now have 283 blog posts. Did you know that my blog has been viewed 9,659 times from the many places around the world (my global audience )?  If you don't  have a blog then it will be impossible for you to have such a large audience because the only person you can share your work with is your teacher.

My blog is also special because I get feedback and feed forward about my work. That means people are sharing their opinions and telling me what they liked and what I could change in a positive way. You can’t do that if you don't have a blog because no one can share their opinions, only your teacher and classmates.

Did you know that you can go back to see what you have been doing the last couple of years and see what work you have done? You can compare your work to see how it has changed over time. You can’t do that if your work is in a book because you might not still have your old books.

My blog is individual because it is a record of my learning since I was in year 4.The best part is that you can throw your books away but you can’t throw your blog away.

This week Mrs Anderson’s reading group has been writing an explanation. I learnt how to properly write a explanation and how it is ordered. The things I already knew about an explanation, is that it is a type of writing and that it is needs to be in past tense order. I still need  to work on making sure that my writing makes  sense in the future and that I have used the correct spelling.

This is a presentation on Dan Carter. I did this for the PBS C A R E Award task for Respect. I had to make a DLO and write why I should respect Dan Carter. I have also wrote some facts and have put some pictures of him as well. I think you guys should respect Dan Carter because he is special to New Zealand. He was a very good Kicker for the All Blacks team. I think he is a star. I have learnt some things about Dan Carter. I learnt that he went to Christchurch boys' high school and Ellesmere colleage.

.

(Care Awards) Respect DLO

For one of my C A R E Award Respect task I had to create a DLO showing respect using photos I have been taking photos. I have four photos that show respect that Mrs Anderson took for our C.A.R.E Vules DLO. You should respect people around you and also respect our environment by picking up rubbish if you see one. I have learnt what respect mean and look like.

(Care Awards) Thank you letter to Mrs Prasad

This is a DLO saying thank you to my teacher. This is one of my Respect C A R E Award task. I have written a lot of things to my teacher. Mrs Prasad is one of best teachers ever she is respectful and an amazing teacher. I have learnt a lot from my teacher about the Water. Thank you Mrs Prasad for everything you have done to me. I appreciate it a lot.

(C.A.R.E Award Confidence) How To Stand Up To Bullies

This is a presentation/DLO I made on How to stand up to bullies. This is really important. This is part of my C A R E Award. This task is based on Confident which is for C. You should read this so you know how to stand up to bullies. I learnt how to stand up to bullies. One thing you should do is use your WITS which is Walk away , Ignore , Tell the teacher , Stand up for yourself and talk to the bully. I would rather tell the teacher because you will be safe that way.

Tech with Mr Grundy

Today in Tech we learnt about woodwork with Mr Grundy. He told us to draw 9 or 10 ideas for what we were going to make. I might make a train of a helicopter. There were rules in Mr Grundy workshop. 1 rule was no fiddling, the 2nd rule was stools have 4 legs for a reason, and the 3 one was go before you come, which means go to the toilet because there is no toilet in the workshop!
